CUSTOZA SUPERIORE DOC CAMPO DEL SELESE 2020
As the winery explains, Campo del Selese wants to demonstrate the great potential of Custoza DOC, differentiating itself in Custoza Superiore. In the peasant tradition, the "selese" was a small paved pitch with terracotta bricks, placed inside the yard, strictly exposed to the sun all day, where cereals were dried for the winter. " Campo del Selese" represents therefore 'plot of land originally placed in the vicinity of the "selese". To the test of the glass, the premises are all confirmed. But let’s start from the blend, composed as follows: the nose is very stratified, with an elegant mineral, citrus and ripe fruit with white and yellow flesh. The similarities of terroir ("hand" of the winemaker included) with Custoza DOC are evident, but Campo del Selese is even richer and more fleshy, especially on the front of the primary. In the background a light roasting, which recalls salted butter and makes the wine tasty, soft, delicious. And at the same time concrete, tactile, decidedly gastronomic. Exemplary use of wood on a portion of Garganega, which ferments in French oak barrels and then be combined with other varieties and stand on the lees for at least 12 months.

The wine has a bright straw yellow color. Elegant nose, pear, citrus, peach. Palate of great tension and at the same time wide and glyceric, on the greedy expression of the fruit (Williams pear again, clean).

CHIARETTO DI BARDOLINO DOC ALBINO PIONA 2022
The "Cellar of the Year North-Italy" for our Guide Top 100 Best Italian wines 2024 produces, in addition to Custoza Doc, also Bardolino. At the sight, the wine has an inviting, bright Provençal rose. Nose where fresh flowers, spices and fruit coexist, in perfect balance. Memories of Mediterranean herbs, such as rosemary and laurel. A hint of white pepper. Taut mouthfeel, equally layered with spices, fruit and hints of Mediterranean aromas. All on the edge of a freshness and a sapidity that give character and a certain "structure to this rosé, soft only in color. The finish (long) is balsamic, mentholated. The umpteenth piece of a great range of wines.
