Four generations of winemakers in the heart of Custoza DOC: this is how you can describe the history and the work of Family Piona. Thanks to their winery and wines, they confirm themselves as a reference point for this denomination. They are placed in the morainic area south of Lake Garda, which is particularly devoted to vineyards. It is the ideal place to pursuit a clear and distinctive quality, finding its highest expression both in white grape blends and in Bardolino wine as well. Furthermore, Family Piona binds culture and territory together by hosting the event Arte in cantina every year.
BARDOLINO SP SPERIMENTAZIONE
DOC red wine – Corvina 80%, Rondinella 20%
Bright and very transparent ruby red. As a young wine, it timidly shows its characteristics, but then it opens up to hints of cherry, blueberry and currant and notes of undergrowth and sweet spices, followed by reminders of herbaceous peony, wild iris and withered rose. Strongly floral and spicy. It offers a wide and full sip. Lures of fruit are back to the memory. Tannins are to be felt, though already pleasantly round. The finale prolongs on a sapid and sour stream. It settles in steel tanks. Hare casserole with plum sauce.
CUSTOZA SUPERIORE CAMPO DEL SELESE
DOC white wine – Garganega 40%, Bianca Fernanda 20%, Trebbiano 20%, other varieties 20%
Bright straw yellow color with light green nuances. Elegant and complex to the nose, it offers rich scents of exotic fruit, pineapple, papaya, melon, sweet orange, jasmine and chamomile, hints of minerals, balsamic herbs, aromas of sage and lemongrass. In the mouth, a balance between freshness and a strong sapidity - a well-structured one - together with a long persistence of fruit and herbs hints. It settles partly in steel tanks and partly in French barrique barrels. Raw seabass with citrus.
BARDOLINO CHIARETTO
DOC red wine – Corvina 80%, Rondinella 20%
An intense and lively color recalling lychee bark. Fresh perfumes and smooth fruit scents of pink grapefruit and wild berries, light tropical hints, floral suggestions of fresh rose and vegetal nuances of aromatic herbs, sage and marjoram. Elegant. A mouth-filling structure and a balanced freshness. The olfactory impressions are back and confirmed. In the finale, a pleasant background and inviting reminders of minerals. Steel only. Wild salmon tartare with orange zest.

Lively straw yellow color. Intense and fresh notes of cedar, pear, white peach, scents of tropical fruit, such as banana and melon, together with hints of chamomile flowers, broom and jasmine. Light scents of minerals. Fine. A delicate and balanced sip and a long persistent taste. A pleasant finale with hints of minerals. Steel. Lobster in bellavista.
BARDOLINO
DOC red wine – Corvina 80%, Rondinella 20%
Light and transparent ruby red. Memories of cherry and plum, together with vegetal hints of freshly cut grass. Freshness and young tannins denote the palate. As you sip it, fruity sensations are back to your mind, while the finale suggests hints of hazelnut. Aging in steel. Lasagnette with guinea fowl ragout and asparagus.
