Family Piona is worth a relevant role in the area of Lake Garda. In the past, Albino was the one who made his winery a point of reference in terms of wines offering a simple and breezy palate. Nowadays, it is up to his offspring to praise that inclination to quality characterizing the hills south of Lake Garda. Piona's vineyards cover more than seventy hectares of soil and supply a quantity of grapes which exceeds the actual needs, so that only the best ones are destined to home production, which is mostly dedicated to Bardolino and Custoza. Here are two versions of Custoza, witnessing its strong ability to evolve, which are proposed only after a long refinement time: Campo del Selese “13 is a superior wine, which is partly refined in oak barrels. To the nose it recalls saffron and dried flowers notes, enriched with the presence of flint. Once in your mouth, it offers a mature, warm and highly savory palate. On the other hand,Custoza SP”13 offers a sharper and more nervous character, marked by a strong acidity degree, which means freshness.
